Snow White Through the Eyes of Dopey

I know most of you have heard the story of Snow White but none of you know what really happened, deep in the wood in our little cottage. Here is the untold story of Snow White.

Most people know me as just a mute joke but I am quite the opposite of the personality that goes with my name. Inside this silly looking head, is an intelligent brain that can figure out the most complicated situations, so that night when Snow White arrived at our cottage I knew the Queen would be after her. Lips as red as blood, skin as white as snow, raven black hair, I had seen it all before because I was once that beautiful princess  before  that horrid Queen turned all seven of us into dwarfs and if we didn’t stop the Queen from getting to Snow White she would have turned her into a dwarf too .

 I had to stop the Queen but of course none of the other dwarfs would listen to me. So as we marched off to work the following day, I thought if Snow White died that day while we were at away it would be the other dwarfs’ fault because no one would listen.

 After about two hours at the mines the animals came tugging, shoving and dragging us down to where the Queen was about to give Snow White the poisoned apple.  It wasn’t actually poison I figured out after seeing Snow White`s spread eagled body.  It was just an anaesthetic to keep her asleep for many days and without food or water she would die – so, same effect, just slower. When she was dead the Queen would turn her in to a dwarf.  But, as you know, the Queen`s plan failed and the princess went off with her prince in a Ferrari (not on a horse), which was just as well as the cottage was full to the gills.

Summer is here!

We were on or way to a family picnic, though Maya is coming too.

I jumped out of the car and jumped right back in again.

I looked over at a bush and two bulging eyes staring right back at me.

So I am in the car now. I think I will go investigate. Bye!

Hi, This is Anne's best friend Maya. Anne tried to see what was in the bush. She as dragged by her wrist inside the bush. There has been n trace of her since. It's been 8 weeks. 

We can only believe that she is dead and I will be attending her funeral on Friday.

Rest in peace Anne (2007-2019)

The Zoo by Liam Gartland (5th Class)

"Excellent" said Joe. "Boring" I said. We were going to the zoo...... again! I know whenever you think about zoos you can't help but thinking they're fun. They are when you're little but they start to become boring as you grow up and start to realize you are just supporting animal cruelty. Anyways, we were going to the zoo. My little sister Sophie was going to enjoy it because she was still young. My brother is an animal freak so he would be pressing is nose against the glass in awe continuously. I would be bored.

The Match by John Kennedy (4th Class)

For Tom it was a special day. He was going to a rugby match. Tom was excited because it was Ireland versus New Zealand. Tom first had to go to school (the school dinners tasted horrible). He left school at one to get his Ireland kit and his tickets. He was very excited to go. He went to the match an hour early so he could get a good seat. He met some of the players. The players signed his shirt with a sharpie. Ireland beat them for the first time in 34 years. "Well that was unexpected"!

Once upon a time there was a little boy named Eoin.  He lived in a very small house. He was very poor. His Mother worked in a tiny little newsagent’s down the road. It only ever sold crisps and juice and barely anyone ever came in there. The most money they ever got from people buying their convenience items was €4. But then one day they heard on the radio that there was lotto on and it was for 25,000. They knew they had a chance!!! The next morning they got a phone call .They WON!

Hi, the name's Bond......Poppy Bond!!

Ha-ha! No, it's not!! I just had to say that.

Anyway, hi I'm Poppy. I just walked out into the night. It's so beautiful.

Taking a night-time walk. I always do that, walking around in the night's-sky. Sometimes I meet up with my friends, sometimes I don’t. My other friends are so ungrateful. I do everything for them, everything! I only have two other friends. They’re the mean ones. I bring them a dead bird; they throw it out and scold me! Despicable! Really! Oh wait! Didn't I mention? I'm a cat!

Dear Diary

Today we left our home country, Ireland, and we moved to Tunisia. We had to take two flights to get there. My friends came to say goodbye even though it was six o’clock in the morning. “I’m not happy about moving but at least I brought my hurley”. When I was on the plane the other passengers weren’t what I expected. They didn’t look like the African people in the movies. Dad got really frustrated when our bags got lost. I would not blame him because it was really hot and sticky in Tunisia. It was so hot and I was so tired that I fell asleep in the back of the Jeep.

Under The Hawthorn Tree by Suan Henderson (4th Class)

The class that I am in (4th class) were reading a book called "Under the Hawthorn Tree" by Marita Conlon Mckenna and when we were finished the book, we discussed the characters feelings.The book is amazing and really sad in places.I would definitely recommend it!!! Our teacher (Ms. O’Donovan) gave us a thought bubble.

She explained that we needed to write what we thought the character of our choice was thinking by the end of chapter 2.

I chose a girl called Eily who was the oldest of the three siblings, Peggy(the youngest,7),Michael(around ten) and Eily (the oldest,12).The following is my piece of writing ......(imagine you are in famine times)

It was tough times that the children were facing and food was scarce. Their father had gone to work and did not come back home. Their mother set off to find him and didn't come back either. They were poor and the fever was roaming all around the town. My thought bubble was about what I thought she would be thinking.

"How long will the fever last? I hope mother and father will come home soon with food and maybe a bit of money too! What if we die of the fever before they do? Will we run out of food?

Dear, we are a sight to be pitied. God save us. I hope little Peggy is warm enough.

Dear me, these are such dreadful times.

Anyway, let's look on the bright side for the time being. We are not dead yet so let's try to enjoy it! We have potato cakes and water and that will keep us going for now.

God save us. God save us all.

I remember now what a fun we had just a month before all this started.

Sitting on the edge of the quay ,dipping our feet in the water.I wonder if we will ever have so much fun again."

Diamonds by Tia Kelly (5th Class)

“Why do you call them diamonds? – The stars, I mean…”  

Zoe glanced up.

“Hm? Oh, because… they sparkle like diamonds in the sunlight.”

“And flamingos?”

“What about flamingos?”

“You call them shrimp-birds!”

“Yeah,” She laughed “because they eat shrimp!”

The conversation seemed to go on for hours.

Darren soon came to the conclusion that his sister was delusional.

He always found it hard to understand the inner-workings of his sister’s mind, but he loved her all the same – she was his sister after all!
